Garden styles

Even the experienced garden designers do not start from the scratch. Get acquainted with gardening magazines and the websites. Look for inspiration in books and in the real world - in parks, other gardens and in natural habitats.

It is also worth to take inspiration from the past. If you like Louis XIV style then even in small garden you can still introduce some elements from this style – e.g. white gravel and box edging – and become an owner of a mini baroque garden.

Over the centuries dozens of styles, movements and tendencies have developed. Still, all these can be divided into three completely separate compositions: free composition, geometric composition, and complex composition.

Your choice of composition will determine future actions since the key to a garden success is to stick to one style consistently.
