Project information
On a beautiful Spring day mommy is just beside herself with all the questions little Rose is asking her at 7 a.m. She is so full of energy on this sunny day, wanting to play dolls, and have a tea party with mom. OH, mommy has laundry to do today, and it's cleaning day. Floors to scrub, dusting to do... oh lot's and lots of dusting. Rooms to clean. Her big brothers... awww what a mess. Mom is so impatient, and a little cranky today. Second cup of coffee coming up.

Still little Rose is presistant and keeps up with the questions and hops around and skips. Sticks close with mommy, always seeming to get in the way. "OH ROSE!" "PLEASE," "Mommy is trying to work today, no time to play." She is so sad. Mommy decides to put on her pretty dress and asks her if she wants to go out in her garden and see all mommy's pretty flowers for just awhile? She is so excited. Mommy loves flowers to, after all Rose was named after flowers. It's nannies name, and she was named after flowers... so was mommy, Lily. Out she goes, with Chester the dog. Chester doesn't seem to like the flowers, he likes the sprinkler on the grass, he's having fun. Mommy is having a bad day, so we must chose some special flowers for her so her heart will feel better, and then she can get her housework done faster and we can play for awhile. So little Rose worrying about mommy and all she has to do decides to pick some of the flowers in the garden and surprise her mother. After careful thought, and a long time, she takes a handful of specially chosen, very colorful flowers into mommy. Oh mommy is quite stressed and when she hears the door bang, comes stomping out to her to chastise her for coming in so soon. But before stressed out mommy has a chance to say anything Little Rose holds out her hands and presents mommy with arms full of her best flowers. OHHHH. Now, mommy could have got really upset because her garden was all torn up, but she stood silent while her little 4 year old spoke. Mommy, I picked you some flowers. This is for the laundry that makes you run up and down the stairs and makes you tired. This is for the vacuum cleaner that makes so much noise and makes you hold your head. This is for the mopping that makes your hands wet and all sore. This is for the dusting that takes so long and makes you sneeze all the time, and you don't seem to like doing, cause there is so much stuff to dust. This is for my brothers rooms that are so messy and makes your face so sad because you have to clean it up every day, and really good on cleaning day. This is for always cooking yummy stuff for daddy , my brothers and me, for always bathing me with lot's and lot's of bubbles before bed, for dressing me everyday, combing my hair really pretty, taking me shopping with you, hugging me, kissing me...uummmm, playing dolls with me, having a tea party with me, and and.... letting me play in your garden....and because I love you more than all my toys, and everything else in the world. i love you mommy. WOW! What a long list that was. I didn't even know she knew all that stuff about me. My heart broke. The stress, anger, agitation, and everything went right out of me. I scooped her right up in my arms and hugged her so tight, with tears in my eyes, and said it was the most beautiful gift i had ever gotten. I decided that today the housework was going to have to wait, because I was going upstairs to play dolls for awhile, and then out on the porch to have a little tea party with my 4 year old daughter. Life is to short to pass this by. I love you Rosie my Princess.
